Most damage to filing cabinets is caused during a move, where incorrect equipment is used to man-handle them. Using unsuitable dollies and skates can exert undue pressure, causing strains and stresses on the cabinet which lead to distortion and warping, impairing the performance of  the draws and locking devices.
